The Business and Economics Sciences Faculty is hosting a Women's Day Event is to celebrate successful women in business, entrepreneurship and leadership roles, launch conservation and possible collaborations. We will also be tackling pertinent social ills such as GBV and running a Sanitary Drive for a women's shelter in Gqeberha. This is in line with the Faculty’s goals of transformation in relation to vision 2030.

The event commemorates and signifies the inspiring role of women in South Africa to secure women’s rights and build more equitable societies. Women’s Day acknowledges the voices of many women that go unheard and who continue to be dominated from securing their rights and realising their full potential.

Woman have the power to create, nurture and transform. The word ‘woman’ has connotations to selfless love, care and affection. At the same time, women ignite the spirit of power and hope. Unfortunately, across the world, women had to fight for their independence and protection of rights. We now see more women run businesses, women in leadership positions and female graduates. For this, we celebrate and we extend our hand to support one another.

This event aims to be an annual tradition for the Business and Economics Sciences Faculty whereby this website will be in place all year to foster positive relationships with sponsors, alumni, staff, students and those in industry. All are welcome to become a member of the site and enjoy the sisterhood!
